This is a painting of Imy that I have just done and now I have made a clay sculpt that I am going to try to paint like my painting. Scale is much smaller and less flexible but hey, let's give it a go and see where it takes me!

new beginnings
Well today was not so sunny so instead of the pool I got her finished!
She is made with silk that I screen printed and her wings are free machine stitched over a fine layer of angelina fibres - quite delicate when you put them to the light.
Paperclay face is hand sculpted. I have called her "new beginnings"... when the butterfly newly spreads her wings to the new day.

"thinking of you" ...new series of dolls....First one!
This is the first doll of a new pattern I am working on. She is pretty small (for me!) standing 17cm or 6 1/2 inches roughly. She has a paperclay sculpted head and lower arms. The body fabric was printed using a de-constructed screen printing method I learnt in a workshop with Kerr Grabowski. Copper wire was used for her upper arms and her crown was cut up out of an old plastic yarn cone and painted.
