Akira comes to Fibreswest in Bunbury

A couple of photos of some of the wonderful dolls made in class - not all finished yet but well on the way. Such variety and imagination.......cloth dolls are for the free spirited people who quietly (not always Rhonda!) work away at creating a moment in time.

seagull hunter

This is my newest doll - "seagull hunter"created in a workshop with the wonderful Akira Blount. What a great week we had - sharing, creating, laughing and eating. Thank you Akira and all the wonderful ladies I had the pleasure of sharing time with. You are all an inspiration.

The Seagull Hunter

...not seeking to harm,
just making sure the messages coming back were all good ones.......because we all could use a little filtering from life sometimes!

The seagull is associated with Lir, a Sea-God in Celtic lore. Like many birds, the seagull flies between the earth and the heavenworld, bringing messages to mortals.

They of course have their little Owl friends with them. I hope to sell these little ladies so I hope they appeal - would love your feedback.

Izzy

My latest painting...much bigger scale than I have worked on before - and a split canvas made a few challenges - but I had fun. Hope you enjoy it.

Izzy and horse

Thank you all for the kind comments on my first paintings. Here is my next one - "Isobella on a horse" - hope I am not expected to be too creative with the titles!
Just love the process of painting and it is opening a whole new world for me....just love challenge of the face and trying to capture an expression. Hope you enjoy them too!

I know it has been a while since I posted - life keeps me busy and you know sometimes the motivation takes leave! Anyway, here are a couple of pics of my adventure into painting.

Celeste

Celeste led a happy and busy life, filled with people and noise.
Sometimes  at night when she  felt she needed a break  Celeste would go lay on the hammock and study the stars.
…not really sure what she would find - but open to the idea of finding it …

Daisy

Daisy was an uncomplicated girl who appreciated the simpler things in life.....
good coffee in the morning, fresh flowers in the house and good friends to share both.
However, on some days, she put her tap shoes on and just danced - because you never want it to be too simple......

Hope

She was a dainty girl, a little frayed from the complexities of life .....but she still had hope.
Some days she would throw open the windows and they would sing melodies from the bottom of their souls.
....Other days they just liked to contemplate the world.

Text-ilse Tweets

Here are my latest offerings - Text-Ilse Tweets!!! They are made with hand woven fabric scraps that I couldn't bear to throw away - as anyone who weaves will understand! Some is even hand dyed before weaving and holds gentle memories... and of course they are stuffed with wool from my friends sheep (all nicely washed and carded :)

Tiina

Hi all, here is a little doll I have made as a surprise gift for a friend. She always wanted a "cat" doll....so I hope she likes it and the message written on her dress.

'Real friendship means you never have to journey through life alone...walk with me.'

and above her shoes ' life is too short not to wear Red Shoes'
